Welcome to our brand Make it colourful, featuring devices protections such as MacBook hard covers with beautiful designs, iPhone cases and computer sleeves, digital accessories, BioVibes products and other school supplies.
My name is Genevieve Rouleau and I am the founder of Make it colourful. I have started WingHorse Home Import Ltd. two years ago after working a few years in China as a home decorator. My friends say that I have a special eye for nice designs and good materials! I live in Discovery Bay, Hong Kong, and share my life with my husband and my two daughters, 11 and 15 years old. They both attend Discovery College, an ESF school in DB.
Make it colourful is mainly targeting students from age of 10 to 16 but also young adults and moms of young children who would like to show that they are unique by dressing up their computer and phone! We operate for now only in Hong Kong. We have many options to help you reducing the shipping cost often very high in Hong Kong. We have on top of the English Schools Foundation, the Canadian International School of Hong Kong and the Independent Schools Foundation Academy who support our initiative as children are required to purchase a computer from either Year 6 or Grade 5.
We believe in honesty, in equal opportunity in life and in health and environment protection. We offer competitive prices and quality. A significant part of our profit is reinvested in charity organizations (see Community Engagement to know more about it). We try to protect the environment by using non-toxic and recyclable material and reducing the waste by using minimum packaging. I hope you will support us in this direction. We also save your money by delivering directly to your child school when possible or to Levain Bakery in Central on certain days.
How Make it colourful started!
One day my older daughter came back from school saying that Year 10 was a big year and the school was taking community engagement very seriously. She asked me if I had any idea that she could apply for her community engagement project. She told me that she would like the project to benefit the elder people of Hong Kong, having participated many times herself to lunch boxes distribution to that specific group and been a witness of their desuetude. Around the same time, my 10 years old daughter, Stephanie, who was starting her Year 6, was really excited to receive her brand new MacBook Pro Retina 13 with all her classmates. Having a child that age being responsible of a laptop for educational purposes of that value persuades me that this device needed at least a minimum protection, on top of the insurance coverage, of course.
Few days after, when traveling by bus in Discovery Bay, I was observing a group of young kids about the same age of my youngest pulling out their new MacBook computer from their bags and playing their games while sitting in the bus. None of the computers had protective covers. Quickly I realized that this was exactly what was missing in Hong Kong schools: an intelligent and colourful protection for the children MacBook laptops!
I have added my two ideas together and came up with "Make it colourful" general concept where I would sell these laptop protections to raise money for charity organizations that share Make it colourful's values. With the help of my friends, children and their friends, we have chosen a name and a logo to represent this idea. "Make it colourful" was born! Since then, we have added other products such iPhone cases, colourful power banks, laptop sleeves and soon iPad cases.
Make it colourful is constantly improving its products to adapt to the children's needs and also to provide all the protection their parents require. We greatly appreciate your comments and recommendations and we'll try as much as possible to implement them within respect of our values.
